Before i choose this idea i had play with other materials such as old CD, egg box, button and bottles,which are want to create CD lamp/CD holder/chair/hanging light and a hand bag. however the results are not as good as the one i choose for finial.
The finial design it used about 400 pice of paper clips. a lots of people ask me how can build up the structure, the answer is i used finishing wire. the reason use that is it invisible which it won't destroy the outlook of the fruit bowl.

The smart use of the material and the technique that you used to combine them was outstanding. I really liked the way you kept the function of the upcycled product. The only thing that I can suggest is may be the size of it? It could be bigger or wider.

ReplyDeleteA very intricate and appealing piece. The care and precision taken in creating this bowl is reflected in the delicate filigree effect that has been produced. The clever use and manipulation of the materials has entirely disguised the original product. I think this maybe a unique achievement in this assignment.
ReplyDeleteThis works well as a bowl but as a general bowl rather than specifically for fruit. Maybe a bit small and sharp to hold fruit. But V.V. Nice.
This product is truly stunning in its intricacy and delicate craftsmanship. Your hard work has also demonstrated a product that beautifully sits on a dinner table as a centre piece for fruit and lollies. However i feel it does lack colour and the firm edges may bruise the fruit

ReplyDeleteYour level of detail with this product amazed me. At first I was interested in the form and the way each piece casted light, but upon closer inspection I noticed that each piece had been painstakingly attached with fishing wire. This stunned me. The workmanship was immaculate.
ReplyDeleteThe concept, however, has its flaws. It isn't entirely practical as a fruit bowl, as it damages the fruit, and producing this bowl on a mass scale would be largely impractical.
Still, I was very impressed with the product.

ReplyDeleteI found that what you did was a very elegant outcome from the paper clips you chose to use. Very intricately made, fine detail, just like jewelry. An intriguing transformation, virtually unrecognizable from what it used to be, upcycled indeed! However, as I have voiced and demonstrated to you, think of a more proper application as the sharpness of the elements would scratch and ruin the appeal of the fruits that the bowl was supposed to enhance. Also, the raw material was not a discarded object but virgin material. And in terms of your poster, you could have used more sophisticated photography techniques to enhance the look of the product, use a better background too. But the shadow works very well indeed, shows the lacelike qualities of the bowl. Very good work, keep it up.
